Learning with Age

Tonight my wife and I were talking about the word prerogative. Not too far into the conversation, we both admitted that it wasn’t until we were in our twenties that we knew how to spell this word correctly. (The list of such words is long!)

It’s one of those words for which it’s easy to be uncertain where to start looking in the dictionary. It’s also a word for which I’d love to see a list of children’s wild misspellings – purrogative?

What other examples of 'late-blooming' in spelling are out there?

By the way Chris, that was a shameless grab for comments-naughty boy.
